hi my name is lee .i live in middlesbrough and have done all my life. i used to birdwatch alot more when i was younger.but now rarely have the time  ;) though i do keep my eyes open when i'm out and about. i have seen some good bird's localy short eared and long eared owl's,cuckoos, waxwing's ,otter and the ringnecked parakeet's .which are alway's in the trees near my house. i have checked this site out many times and still do.i often use the picture's in the gallery section. to help me in my work :) i am a full time taxidermist working mainly on bird's  :o i would like to ask you member's if you come across anything  bird wise road kill etc  .not to leave it there to rot. but pick it up and /or inform me as to were /what it is ect. :D ;) i'm more than willing to post pictures of my work which is of a very high standard  on here . all my bird's are legaly acquired. captive bred/ rta ect. i'm also willing to donate and or loan bird's to teesmouth bird club if they ever require them for nature center's.talk's ect. . sorry to go on a bit ;D and i hope i havent offended anyone..
all the best.  lee... ;)  ps if i see anyting worth seeing i will post on here also. :)

Lee.  Can't believe anyone would be 'offended'.  Your work looks excellent, and how better to show people the beautiful form and plumage of birds close up?  Like you say, better than leaving them beside the road or in the nearest bin.  I still have a soft spot for all those specimens in cases in, say, the Dorman Museum, except for the fact that they were shot by idiots who didn't know any better in those days.
PS How can you be a 'full-time taxidermist'?  There can't be enough money in it, surely?

hi steve..some folk do get the wrong idea when you go asking them to pick dead bird's up for ya.. ;) yes i am full time  and there is enough money in it to get by .  i aint ever gonna be rich but i get by  ;D plus i'm my own boss and realy love my job . not many people can say that. i'v met many great people and have worked on some very rare and unusual bird's. yes the dorman's museum realy fired my interest when i was a kid. shame most of em were shot. but back then there was no cameras ect. so they shot em and drew illustration's took measurement's plumage pattern ect . although i dont condone it  :(  i reckon the people who collected them were real bird lover's  all the same in their own way .   to be a good taxidermist you have to study live  bird's  and all nature in general.  :)  anyway next time you see a dead bird laying in the road think .hey i know a guy who could do summit with that.. ;D ;)  best.  lee...
