Saw this Dunnock at Skinningrove. Are these photos enough to identify where the bird was ringed?

IanF

Ordinarily no. You need the full ring number to identify a bird from a metal ring. All you can tell from the photos is that it was ringed in the UK.

Having said that considering the location and that it'll likely be a locally ringed bird and there won't be many ending in '311' then if the ringer sees the photos they maybe able to identify it.

Many thanks for that very helpful information Ian. Regards

Damian

Hi Derick,
With the extra photo's of the ringed Dunnock at Skinningrove recently posted by Ray Simpson, I can say that this bird is TZ96311.
It was ringed by myself at nearby Huntcliff on the 08/10/2016.

Cheers

Thanks Damian, that's brilliant. I saw Rays photos but wasnt able to see how the numbers followed on.  Nice one Damian.
