Two colour ringed birds at Saltholme hide this morning. Both new to me.

Orange A Black N - believed a North Lincolnshire bird.

Blue H7 - believed a Nottinghamshire bird.

Details sent off for both.

Quote'H7' was ringed in the Lower Derwent Valley National Nature Reserve at Wheldrake Ings, North Yorkshire on the 17th July this year, as a breeding female from the local heronry, and yours is the first sighting since ringing.

IanF

Seen briefly at the Phil Stead Hide this morning.

Green darvic ZND roosting over high tide.

Believed to be from Puffin Island, Anglesey, Wales.

Details sent off.

QuoteYour cormorant was ringed as chick on Puffin Island on 22/6/19. It was also seen at Hartlepool on 24/8/19.
Your repeat sighting is very useful to us, since the reason for colour ringing these Cormorants is to learn how site faithful they are in wintering areas, and how long they stay at a site.

QuoteFK was ringed and tagged near Cantley, on the edge of the Norfolk
Broads, on 16.06.2019. He was a male bird in a brood of four males, and
this constitutes the first sighting of any of the brood since that date,
so good to know that at least one has survived so far.

This is actually the first Oystercatcher ringed by the project (which has been on the go since 2013) that has been re-sighted in England, so this is a gem of a re-sighting!
