I am looking to recruit an individual with good bird identification and counting skills to join a dedicated team of volunteer surveyors who undertake coordinated Wetland Bird Counts (WeBS Counts) in the Tees Estuary. The Seaton Common sector would need to be surveyed once a month on a scheduled date which occurs on a Sunday.

The Wetland Bird Survey monitors non-breeding waterbirds in the UK, providing data for population and trends in abundance and distribution. Nationally over 3000 volunteers contribute to the survey, the Seaton Common sector has been monitored since 1993.

Further information on WeBS can be found on the following link: https://www.bto.org/our-science/projects/wetland-bird-survey

If you would like to express an interest in monitoring the Seaton Common sector please contact me via email: adam.jones@rspb.org.uk

Many thanks,
