Hi picking up from a sightings post , where have they all gone ,the avocets arrive and they disappear coincidence or me being cynical

I take it no one else has any opinions on the matter.

I spent the last 4 days of May in Norfolk visiting main bird sancturies plus Lakenheath with extensive coverage of the rest of the County and the same comments were raised. I saw about 3.

Are Little Egrets colonial nesters (is that gramaticaly correct)
where abouts is the nearest breeding pairs to Cleveland.
are there any North of Cleveland.

Hi Steve that's what I am trying to get to the bottom of up until the Avocets arrived they had been here in reasonable numbers all year round , now 16yrs ago both types of bird in the area would have caused quite a stir now we have become complacent about them .
