I photographed this thrush yesterday at Carlin How, it was a lot smaller than a usual song thrush, just a little larger than a robin. It seemed weak and unable to fly. Any thoughts?

Hi Helen,

can you re-post your picture. I think you must have uploaded it as the website moved to a new server so unfortunately the picture has got lost

Regards,
Jamie

Hi Helen if that's a faint touch of red under the wing then it's a Redwing one of our winter visitors

Tweaking the colours and brightness it looks like a Song Thrush from the buff breast and inverted arrowheads marks on the breast.

Thanks All, it more than likely is a song thrush, the thing that got me curious was it's small size, but I suppose if it was weak and in poor condition it would appear reduced in size. Poor little thing, hope it gets through this weather, might take it some mealworms! ;)
