Hello,

As I'm sure you've all read the Phil Stead Hide is now open for a quick preview before the official opening next week. While not wanting to nag could we just remind you to remind anyone that the little car park nearest the hide is for our visiting coaches. We are expecting a lot more schools and coach tours this year so if you would like to park near the hide please feel free to use our overflow car park which is the large grassy area between the coach park and the bicycle shed.

Apologies to sound like we're nagging but another request is to keep to the footpath on Haverton. We have had a drake Garganey on the pool nearest the Haverton Gate which has been showing nicely if viewed from the gate. Unfortunately a few people have tried to get a bit closer by going on top of the bank and in breaking the skyline have pushed the Garganey into cover and so preventing others from seeing it. We are aware this is frustrating as there are areas from the Haverton Viewpoint that aren't visible and we are looking to get another viewing area up there using hawthorns or willow as cover but until then please keep to the path and avoid breaking the skyline on the top of the bank.

Thank you very much and enjoy your birding

Toby
