Guys,

  Saw  this fella 3 times in an hour 1 30pm - 2 30pm.
Excellent views in binos.

I was there an hour before. A small crop as I was a long way off . . . .

We saw the Osprey initially when I never had my camera. First time we'd been there and just wanted to see what the lay out was. Right over our head she circled. I went for the camera, but by the time I got back to the lake side she'd gone opposite side and then chased off by 3 Lapwings. We walked round the lake and as we got back to the carpark she appeared over the Southern wooded area. I decided to walk to the pump station, and managed to couple of distant shots.

We originally went for Crossbills so an Osprey was a great bonus.
BUSTING to nab a Crossbill or two.

I saw two (male and female) on the east side of Guisborough Forest a few weeks back. They were on the dead poles left after felling the rest of the woodland so they were easy to spot!

Made the trip down from Northumberland on the off-chance of seeing the Osprey as I've never seen (a live) one in England before and figured Lockwood Beck is a good deal smaller than Kielder!

Arrived at 12.30 and saw it arrive from the direction of Margrove at around 1pm. It circled for a while and made one failed dive close to the jetty near the car park before drifting off toward the coast as I made my way back to where it was favouring. When I headed back to the car assuming it had gone for the time being I saw it holding station just a few hundred metres away and it slowly made its way back to the beck. I followed it back to the lake but it headed to the far side (which is where I'd been when it first appeared - sods law).

Didn't get any great shots but at least I got a couple of identifiable record shots!
