I saw an adult Sandwich Tern sat on the beach at Newburn Bridge today.  I'm sure its not particularly late but its a been a while since I've seen any terns (the hirundines seemed to leave early this year as well).  I got me wondering what people's records were for the latest remaining individuals of those bird species that are obligatory migrants.  Does the bird club keep any phenological type records?

Just to get the ball rolling, my latest swift is 2nd Oct and my latest tern, probably the one above; not much to beat!

Hi Ian,
A list of the earliest and latest dates for summer migrants in Cleveland can be found in the Cleveland bird reports.

Still present today. Around 9:00am one was on the Headland on the rocks inside Heugh Pier where I saw one on 8th October. 10:30am likely the same one was on the beach at Newburn Bridge. Likewise with a Med Gull in both places.
