Yesterday (Monday) 3pm, Runswick Bay: on the beach about 2/3rds along to the east, with two Dunlins, a Baird's Sandpiper. Smaller and more rakish than the Ds, shortish slender straight bill. Overall brownish with very scaly mantle. Dark rump. Wingtips well beyond tailtip! Dark legs. I got poor photos but showing the features, which I can send... to whom? Have seen this species in America, but been birding for 65 years... so very familiar with it from photos, etc.!
Please wait...
