Black-throated Thrush

Hi all, I know it's a bit outside Cleveland but does anyone know further details on the Black-throated Thrush at Newholm, Whitby? It's in a private garden but I can't see anywhere if it is visible from the road. Any ideas?

news came out about 6:20pm yesterday (Tuesday) it was still present but it did not give an address just the village name but it looks like quite a small village

It seems that it is only known to have been present again on Tuesday as the original finder has posted further photographes of the bird on flickr, together with the comment that "it seems to have moved in to my garden"! No furhter information regarding its precise location, although as Jamie says, it only looks like a small village.

Just so everyone on here has seen, the latest on Birdguides is:

I don't know what the roads are like but might give it a crack in a Honda Civic tomorrow.

Just been to Newholm. The roads are OK.
The bird is in a front garden about 200 yards past Beehive pub (from moor road). as the road bends to the right take the lane to the left for about 20 yards (don't take the first lane near village hall).
Parking is OK and the residents seem to be alright about it.

Hi, i also went to Newholm today around lunchtime and as John previously stated the bird shows in gardens down the lane 200 yards beyond the pub NOT by the pub! Basically it's the second left after the pub but it's probably best to park near the pub and walk, the lane it's down has a "No through road" sign by it and is quite narrow and parking there is not advised.

The bird is frequenting the front gardens of a row of terraced cottages and you have to stand on the Lane to view. The views are Stunning, quite how it will show when a crowd is watching is anyones guess but today with no more than Five of us watching the bird wasn't bothered at all!

Whilst i was there the finder of the Thrush came over for a chat and he seems more than happy for birders to view his and adjacent gardens, he told me he's also informed the locals of what's going on.

A collection bucket was in place for the RNLI so if everyone throws in a quid or two everyone's a winner.
