2nd sighting of a hooded crow, Stockton 20:35 and 21:03.
Was initially suggested (5 occasions) on Merlin app, which I shrugged at (it even says in the app that it is very unlikely in our area).
But saw clearly this evening sat briefly on neighbour's garden arch, flew away briefly, and returned.
Two kestrels in flight, flying large arcs & repeatedly hovering high above tree over the past 3-4 days. This evening one has continued to fly wide arcs and the other has broken off, windhovering then dropping to raid goldfinch nest in garden-bordering hawthorn, in an area rich with small rodents near open field and train tracks. Nest raided 3 times in total within approx 10 minutes - unsure whether by one bird or both. Stockton, 18:50

24 April - First Swifts high over the garden in Seamer.. Probably the earliest I have seen them in the North East.
Blackcap heard and seen at the bottom of Hazelgrove in Saltburn this afternoon, among the blackthorn. My earliest sighting ever!

Stuart. Your bird would be a Grey Wagtail. Yellow Wagtail is a summer visitor.
Saw a yellow wagtail near foot bridge, Hazel grove to Marske woods, Saltburn-by-the-Sea. Frequently popping into the stream.
4 goosanders on the lake in Albert Park this lunchtime, 2 males and 2 females, looking lovely in the sunshine!
Saw a White Throated Dipper under the A1motorway bridge beside Low Coniscliffe in Darlington. Was by itself and was hopping from rock to rock in the river
Castle Lake: Drake American wigeon still present around lunchtime today. 1st winter Galucous gull roosting on industrial sit off Ferry Road, Hartlepool, ca. 2pm.
