Great White Egret on pond near entrance to Six Fields Nature reserve off Darlington Road
Hartlepool headland around Borough Hall Gardens and the "putting green" this afternoon: healthy numbers of chiffchaff and long-tailed tit, garden warbler, lesser whitethroat, and at least two yellow browed warblers. Meanwhile, great grey shrike still on industrial site off Ferry Road.

I seem to miss a lit of news not being on x . However I would recommend it as got me a lifer in the fiorm of great grey shrike at Ferry Road Hartlepool marina. Thanks to all the fellow birders who advised me today .

Seaton Snook, at high tide: single arctic skua (dark morph). A good selection of waders, including the first significant influx of golden plovers I've seen around the tees this autumn (more than 200 were present), plus grey plover, knot, bar-tailed godwit, sanderling, dunlin, ringed plover and oystercatcher. Still healthy numbers of sandwich terns, a few common terns and a possible juvenile black tern, but it was too distant for someone of my limited skills to confirm.
Saltholme highlights this afternoon included a healthy selection of waders at Bottom Tank (including ruff, black-tailed godwit, ringed plover and others); at least two water rails and a bittern from the Wildlife watchpoint; a little stint, avocets, dunlin, ringed plover, more black-tailed godwits, kestrel and the long-staying white fronted goose on Saltholme West. Several skeins of pink-footed geese passed overhead.
Water levels are good on Dormans Pool at the moment. 3 Spotted Redshank, 6 Greenshank and 3 Ruff today
